Stock photo's are pictures you can use and alter in anyway unless the photographer has stated otherwise.
Two places where most of us here get our stock photo's are from either Deviantart and Flickr.
Of course there are many free stock sites but these are the most used.
If you're looking for stock on DA follow this;
-Go to the site
-on the left side table. Scroll down and click on Resources & Stock Images
-Again look on the left table and click on Stock Images
-Type what your searching for in the search bar and that's it
If you're looking for stock on Flickr follow this;
-Go to site
-Click on search
-Click on advanced search
-Scroll down to where it say's Creative Commons
-check "Only search within Creative Commons-licensed content "
-scroll back up to where it say's search for and type what you are looking for.
It's really simple.
Be sure to credit the photographers when using their stock!
